How to Draw An Eagle with a long sharp beak
Enjoy a fun drawing lesson on how to draw an eagle, America's most emblematic figure! This proud animal is not as difficult to draw as it might seem. The real challenge is to create a front version and make sure that the result still looks like an eagle and not like any other bird.
A side version is easier to recognize because the beak is easier to draw and the hair is also more visible. It's tough to achieve this goal in black and white, but it can certainly be done! Below you can see a template of the final eagle with colors.
Step 1
Cool! Let's start with the creation of the head using a circular shape. On top of the head, you can draw a small hair using a tiny triangle. Next, you can add a longer triangle to illustrate the beak.
Step 2
When you are done, you can sketch another oval shape to form the body. Make sure this new shape is much smaller than the one used to illustrate the head. The legs are made from small lines and rectangles as shown on the illustration below.
Step 3
For the wings, you can use long curved lines. The wings must be a little bit longer than the body. The tail is made from a rectangle. This shape can be drawn below the body and it can be wider than the two feet.
Step 4
Great! You can draw both eyes using circular shapes. Make sure these new shapes are close to each other and are (almost) covering the whole face. Pupils are drawn from smaller shapes like shown below.
Step 5
You can complete this drawing lesson with the addition of oval shapes inside the pupils. You can also draw a long line around the eyes and the beak to illustrate the darker shape often visible on the head of an eagle.
Step 6
Nice work! Like I said earlier, this character is easy to draw, but representing an eagle from a side view is often more difficult. You can try a side version of a cartoon eagle to see the difference!
